Staff, broadsword, spear, and more, taught as part of the complete curriculum.

Most martial arts schools do not teach weapons. Most of those that do offer weapons as a performance art, beautiful to watch, disconnected from the system it came from.
At Syracuse Kung Fu, weapons training is part of the authentic Hung Ga curriculum. Every weapon in the system has a relationship to the barehand principles, the same stances, the same power generation, the same philosophical framework. Learning weapons in this context deepens your understanding of the empty-hand art. They are not separate disciplines. They are expressions of the same root.
Training with a weapon teaches you things about your body that barehand training can't fully reveal. The staff extends your reach and makes your structural deficiencies immediately visible, you can't fake it with a six-foot weapon. The broadsword demands commitment in each cut. The spear requires a level of precision that sharpens the mind as much as the technique.
Historically, the weapons curriculum of Hung Ga was considered some of the most complete and battle-tested in Southern Chinese martial arts. Sifu Bey carries that curriculum intact, taught in the traditional manner, earned through progression, not purchased as an add-on.
Weapons training is integrated into the broader Hung Ga program. Students are introduced to weapons training as they progress through the curriculum, the timing depends on individual development rather than a fixed schedule. If you're new to the school and weapons training is specifically what you're interested in, mention it when you get in touch. Sifu Bey will give you a clear picture of how the path looks.
