Lion Dance & Martial Arts Performances, Syracuse Kung Fu
Traditional lion dance and demonstrations for events across Central New York.
Lion dancing is not decoration. It is a living tradition, one that connects the physical art of kung fu to cultural heritage, community celebration, and the belief that energy, intention, and movement have real effects in the world.
Syracuse Kung Fu performs traditional lion dancing and martial arts demonstrations for events across Central New York. Whether you're organizing a Chinese New Year celebration, a cultural festival, a corporate event, or a school program, we bring something genuinely alive to it.
What We Offer
The Hung Ga lion dance tradition is practiced within the Yee's Hung Ga International Kung Fu Association. Our lion dancers are trained martial artists, the physicality and precision of the lion dance emerges directly from kung fu practice. This is not a performance costume hired for an afternoon. It is practitioners of the art expressing it in one of its most visible forms.
Sifu Bey and students of Syracuse Kung Fu perform demonstrations of Hung Ga Kung Fu, forms, weapons sets, partner drills, and conditioning displays, that give audiences a genuine window into what traditional Chinese martial arts look like when practiced at a high level.
For school programs and educational events, we offer presentations that combine performance with context, the history of Hung Ga, the five animals, the meaning of the lion dance, and the cultural tradition behind the art.
Past Performances and Events
Sifu Bey has been an active part of the Syracuse and Central New York community since 2001. The school has performed at community events, cultural celebrations, and martial arts gatherings throughout the region. He has hosted visiting masters and sponsored seminars that have brought internationally recognized martial artists to CNY audiences.
